LoL is right.

as before, struck that magic balance of plot and humor. had me laughing out loud (hence the review title) at times, had me engaged in the story at times. nice thing, really.

the pixelwork and animation on this one is really impressive! feels like a big improvement, of course due to the help you've received from talented people, but i feel also because of your own experience from previous animation.

a lot of people seem to mind the length, but why? a -lot- better than those sixty second flash cartoons that make you say, "..uh, is that it? wtf." in all, just helps make it feel like what i was watching was worth my time to load the page. overall, the quality was great.

and yes, i gave it THE SIX. logged in on an alternate NG account&internet connection to do so. no need to thank me. i know im great.

in all seriousness though, i sent you a PM regarding a thing or two. if i can be taken seriously, would appreciate you giving it a read and replying if you aren't too busy replying to your mountain of reviews.

its been a fun hour or so watching & reviewing these, so thanks again!

I take no one seriously, it's why I'm still alive.

And the last.

Satisfying conclusion now. The intro (part 1) really gave me the impression this was going to be entirely centered on humor, however the series' depth gradually became more clear, as it should have. the result (as I've already said, lol) is an awesome balance between plot and humor.

sprite work is great in this one. nice tie-in to the next episode near the end -- "oh god yes, and spiders."

Emptygoddess responds:

I like to imagine the internet as a big series of sewer tubes. Like in Mario.

Part 3

Not sure what to say here that hasn't been covered yet.. this episode starts off with a little more humor than the last one.. pretty funny, lol'd at Link's comments to the guard at the start. so great.

more plot progression here, the relation between Link and Zelda becoming more clear. holy crap, DEPTH! something so rarely seen.

god, sprite animation can be sexy.

Emptygoddess responds:

You could say 'BRAIN THE TRAITOR!' no one has said that yet.

REVIEW PART 2

This is where the series really begins to define its style. At first I was kind of resistant to Link's voice.. you know "this is NOT what link should sound like, based on my personal opinion of what he should sound like!" .. but soon enough it became .. endearing. Totally perfect for the way he's portrayed here. Zelda's voice is nice, the accent is pretty spot on, imo. The pixie's is -really- annoying, but not in a bad way (yeah, oxymoron, but whatever).. it's just how the character should be, rite? rite.

As far as the story&script goes, it's really nice, a breath of fresh air in the VG parody field. Awesome to get a break from videogame related movies full of boner jokes or whatever. The humor is just about perfect, not so much that I can't take the series seriously, but enough that it's there and provides a nice bit of comic relief. Great balance being struck here.

Animation is great. It's kept pretty simple here, which isn't really a bad thing. Most of the focus is on dialogue which helps keep the plot in check, but the animation is there when it needs be. So good work on that. :d

Stamps of approval from all the world make me feel like a little girl.

Time to start this..

Since this is mostly just the introduction part, there isn't a lot to say. The Rabbit Joint song was a good choice, though I've heard it in quite a few places so this being the only time you used it (so far at least) was a good call. Also lol at everyone who thinks it's system of a down.. kind of understandable since the internets has accredited them with the song nearly everywhere, but would not kill them to do a little googlin' before saying they know better than the freaking author him/herself.

However this proved to be an effective start to the series that made me want to check out the other entries. Also I notice you give a solid effort to reply to every review you get, which is pretty admirable. Good to know you care enough about your work to do so. (yeah, really off topic, but I got plenty of space to type here, so whatever. ) Voted 5.

I mostly just say whatever first pops into my head. Such as... Never forget to brush.

Underappreciated

GREAT movie, man! It's a shame that it hasn't been reviewed much! ;_; You'd think after being frontpage'd and being given a 4+ rating, you'd have more than 7 reviews. I mean.. even my crappy movies that barely passed judgement have been reviewed more. >.>

MahjongClock responds:

Well, I think a major reason this happened was due to the 'Clock Day Rush'... Many movies left the Recent 50 list before they even finished judgement!

LOOOLL

Best Flash on Newgrounds. Period.

DashsterFox responds:

LOL lar aren't you exaggerating a bit XD..?

Straight 7's

I didn't think it would be so good before I played, but it is very nice :) I'll wait for #4..

Masso responds:

Yay!
I will make a 4th one!

LOL!

The outtakes were easily the best Mario spoofs ever. The SMRPG music during #2 was great.. (Flashbacks) Er, speaking of flashbacks, Mario and Luigi should have been twins at birth, yeah? And as they were being given birth, Mario fought with Luigi (or something to that effect) to "Get out of the womb" first, and Luigi never forgot it. Orr..... something like that. XD Okay, so maybe I'm a fucking retard. That's a given.

Yoshi-1up responds:

Na, Mario is older. Mario Twins is a different game XD!

Damnit..

NO MORE BEGINNER TUTORIALS, OKAY? There are.. let's see.. 150, approximately, beginner tutorials. They cover the same shit. But also, they don't cover it well enough for a beginner to understand. So ironic. The little logo you made overlapped everything, showing you don't even know how to use layers well. It wouldn't kill for you to make something worth reading, something in depth, like how to animate FBF, detailed actionscripting, etc. This stuff is old, and has earned a 0.

TrueDarkness responds:

Just to let you know, the "little logo I made" wasn't being used by layers. I switched the alpha level to 20%. Thats how it matched with the changing backround smart one. No layers for that. And 2nd of all Plenty of people UNDERSTOOD this and liked it very much. Now it might be a beginner tutorial, but wtf do you care its TO HELP BEGGINNERS. And apperently, this did cover everything well enough for OTHER people to understand so don't be talking man.
